Caregiver Support Group
You may have been providing care for some time now or perhaps this is a new role for you. Our caregiver support group provides an opportunity for you to connect with other caregivers and Hospice staff to share knowledge and experience.
Twice a month caregivers are invited to gather at Hospice to chat, learn, encourage, and support one another. A Hospice staff member facilitates this time together and topics of interest can be brought to the group to share and discuss. Please call ahead before attending this group.
Children and Teen Support
Hospice Peterborough believes strongly in supporting children and teens who are living in a family situation with someone who is dying. In order to meet the immediate needs of children and teens Hospice arranges one-to-one support or small group support as appropriate. Hospice staff may also help the family link with other community supports.
Wellness Support
The Gentle Exercise program runs on Fridays at 1:00pm for those wishing to participate in easy, gentle exercises that everyone can do. Other wellness programs are offered periodically depending on interest and need. Please refer to this website page for up-to-date information or contact us with your ideas.
Resources
Hospice Peterborough has a lending library with books, videos and music; staff can also suggest reputable web resources to answer your questions, including our own informational booklets on various topics. From time to time we also host public education events. You are always welcome to call, drop-in or email us with questions about hospice palliative care and grief.
