Peterborough – Close to 100 Hospice Peterborough board, volunteers, staff and community supporters gathered on the afternoon of September 10 to celebrate the success of the Every Moment Matters capital campaign to build the Hospice Peterborough Care Centre and to launch Bring It Home, the final phase of the campaign. Kicking off the Bring It Home phase was the naming of the community programming wing of the new Care Centre. ‘Heeney House’ was dedicated in honour of long-time community leader and hospice supporter Goodith Heeney. Hospice Peterborough is offering an introductory orientation session in September to learn more about this unique opportunity to volunteer. Call to register to attend on Wednesday, September 14th or Thursday, September 22nd. Following an interview process, you may then be invited to join the hospice volunteer training which will begin in October for 10 weeks (3 hours weekly in the afternoon). We enhance comfort, dignity and quality of life, and in 2015-16, our staff and volunteers served 1,767 community members. ‘Paul’s Left Ball Fore’ fundraiser amused audiences at Market Hall on Thursday, April 28th raising $3,000 to support Hospice Peterborough’s Every Moment Matters Campaign.
This sold out performance featured Linda Kash, Lisa Lambert, Deb McGrath, Patrick McKenna, Colin Mochrie, The Citiots Improv, Beau Dixon, Dan Bronson and many more including an Improv group from Linda’s Peterborough Academy of Performing Arts school.
For the past 4 years, Linda Kash and friends have celebrated the life and work of her husband, the late Paul O’Sullivan.
Paul O’Sullivan, was a much beloved actor and comedian known for stage performances in such Toronto productions as Second City, The Producers and The Drowsy Chaperone.
Linda Sunderland, Executive Director offers “A HUGE Hospice THANK YOU to Linda and the cast of Paul’s Left Ball Fore. It’s an honour to be the recipient of your talent and community spirit”.
