Support Groups for Men and Women Living with Serious Illness
Women’s Cancer Support Group – for women living with advancing disease. This group meets on Wednesday mornings for mutual support and encouragement, to problem solve and to hear each other’s stories. Participants learn from each other and enjoy time together in a safe and caring environment. Support groups often reduce the sense of fear and isolation that some experience during illness and treatment. A Hospice staff member and skilled Hospice volunteer facilitate the group.
Men’s Support Group – for men living with any life-threatening illness. This group meets on Wednesday mornings for mutual support and encouragement and to problem solve. Participants hear each other’s perspectives on illness and enjoy time together in a safe environment. Although men are not inclined to participate in a group, we believe a support can reduce the sense of fear and isolation that some experience during illness and treatments. The group is facilitated by skilled Hospice volunteers.
Wednesday mornings, 10:00 AM – 12:00 noon
