This week is National Volunteer Week! We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to over 250 individuals who choose to volunteer their time with Hospice Peterborough. Your commitment to the individuals and families we support is truly inspiring.
Guided by a philosophy of compassion, respect and autonomy, our specially trained volunteers work together with staff to care for the whole person, improve quality of life and enhance comfort. When individuals and families come to Hospice, they realize they are not alone.
Our Volunteer Coordinator Paula Greenwood had this to say about our volunteers:
“Lucky us to work with such amazing volunteers! It is such a privilege to work alongside the volunteers of Hospice Peterborough. Each person brings their own unique set of skills and talents, and yet, what makes the most profound difference is their intent to make someone else’s road easier. This may not always be obvious to others, but this intent can be through direct client contact or working hard on one of our event committees. We thank you and celebrate you!”
Be it a listening ear, a friendly face at reception, or a song at the bedside, Hospice Peterborough volunteers are the best of the best!
