Hike for Hospice UPDATE May 2010
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported Hike for Hospice 2010. Together we raised $41,000 to support Peterborough and area residents. Over 200 hikers, children, volunteers and dogs collected pledges, volunteered and hiked to help raise awareness and funds for hospice care in our community!
Sunday, May 2, Hike for Hospice held a special meaning for many families and friends, it was a time to share memories and create new ones. Hikers enjoyed coffee and muffins while they registered and then proceeded to the memory stone ceremony. The Women Warriors led the way through scenic East City, making a pit stop in Beavermead Park for ice cream before returning to Millennium Park to enjoy a picnic lunch donated by Montana's Cookhouse.
Hike for Hospice is so much more than a fundraiser - for many of our clients they feel this event recognizes and pays tribute to their struggles.For our grieving families, it's an opportunity to cherish someone they've lost.
Proceeds from the Hike will stay in our community to help people living with serious illness and grief.
