Every Moment Matters Campaign Update Hospice Plans to BRING IT HOME
Hospice Peterborough board, volunteers, staff and community supporters gathered on the evening of June 23rd to hear about the business of the organization for the past year, get updates on the new design of the Hospice Care Centre and celebrate the success of the Every Moment Matters Campaign.
Retiring Board Chair Bill Graham spoke about his gratitude for the hard work of staff and volunteers. “I am humbled by the strength of our community’s vision to strengthen palliative care in our region, all while maintaining high quality services at our current level.”
Linda Sunderland, Executive Director, gave an overview of the latest Care Centre plans. “We received wonderful feedback from our community after we revealed the concept designs. This feedback helped us update our plans to fill identified gaps and maximize the efficiency of our building’s flow and function while maintaining the homelike features that are so important in the care we provide.”
Betty Morris, Chair of the Every Moment Matters Campaign, announced the new campaign goal of $8.25M and members of the Campaign Cabinet and Hospice volunteers revealed the amount raised to date, $7,615,387. This puts Hospice Peterborough at over 92% of its Campaign goal.
“We are so excited to announce the start of the public phase of our Every Moment Matters Campaign with the wonderful news of the success of our campaign to date”, said Betty Morris. “Now we are counting on our community to “Bring It Home” with continued generous donations. Construction on our new Hospice Care Centre will start this summer. Every donation counts as we make Every Moment Matter.”
