6. Planned Giving

As the name implies, planning ahead to leave a gift in your will is one the most thoughtful ways to help others and leave a lasting impact on your community. There are many kinds of planned gifts such as simple bequests in a will or estate plan, annuities, charitable trusts, pooled income, life insurance and life estates.

A planned gift is a special legacy for the future, which provides a source of financial support for Hospice Peterborough while also providing personal tax benefits. These gifts are arranged in the present, usually within an individual's estate or financial plan, and actualized at a later date. Examples of planned gifts include; bequests, life insurance, securities, charitable gift annuities, and gifts of personal and real property.

7. Gifts In-kind

Hospice Peterborough appreciates gifts of in-kind items such as auction items, art work, prizes, services, furniture as well as some food and beverage items. As a registered charity, Hospice Peterborough can issue tax receipts for the fair market value of some in-kind gifts.

8. Endowment Fund

Contributing to Hospice Peterborough's Endowment fund helps to ensure the future of Hospice programs. Your donation will be added to the existing capital of the fund and it will be preserved there while generating a perpetual source of income. Tax receipts are provided for all contributions.

Please consult a professional financial advisor if you have any questions or concerns.

9. Donations in Lieu of Gifts

Many families choose to honour a special event like a birthday, anniversary or wedding by suggesting their guests make a donation to Hospice Peterborough in lieu of gifts.
