On Saturday, September 17, 2016, BEL Rotary held the first annual BEL Rotary Bike for Hospice Peterborough presented by Peterborough Subaru.
Over 100 cyclists soared through rainy conditions to complete the 25, 50 and 100 KM courses to support Hospice Peterborough’s Every Moment Matters campaign.
Cyclists reported that the picturesque routes through Selwyn and Douro-Dummer Townships made the rides enjoyable despite periods of heavy rain. Each course was tailored to the
expectations of recreational cyclists or more adventurous riders.
The routes started and finished at Isabel Morris Park, in Lakefield, with riders being rewarded with an after party featuring local craft beer from Smithhaven Brewing Company and The Publican House Brewery and a BBQ featuring Ellie’s Taste of Texas.
The $25,000 raised from the ride will stay in our community.
