Thank you to Team Hospice Peterborough!! On Sunday, June 21st, 39 local cyclists participated in the 11th annual Healing Cycle Bike Ride in Caledon Ontario. The ride, organized by the Healing Cycle Foundation, raises funds in support of hospice palliative care across Ontario.
Strong winds couldn’t slow down the Peterborough team – 14 cyclists rode 100 kilometres, 23 cyclists rode 50 kilometres and 2 cyclists rode 25 kilometres, collectively raising over $33,000 for Hospice Peterborough. Although the forecast called for lightening, the only lightening seen was when the first four Peterborough riders (David Newport, John Hunter, Ian Wilson and David Fell) finished the 100 kilometre ride in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th positions. Although it wasn’t a race, those same Peterborough riders took the top four places in their age category.
