Hospice care means people helping people. Financially
speaking, Hospice Peterborough relies on individuals, businesses,
churches and service organizations to provide more than 40% of our
total budget. Your donation will help to ensure that we can continue
to provide support to people in our community living with life
threatening illness or grief.

ways you can donate.
1. In Memoriam Donations
Many people choose to make Hospice
Peterborough their charity of choice when their loved one dies. When
you make an “in memoriam donation” to honour your own memories of a
friend or a loved one Hospice Peterborough will send a card to the
family to notify them of your gift and will send you a tax receipt.
2. Planned or Deferred Giving
A planned gift is a special gift for
the future, which provides a source of financial support for Hospice
Peterborough while also providing opportunities for individuals to
achieve personal tax benefits. These gifts are arranged in the
present, usually within an individual's estate or financial plan,
but actualized at a later date. Examples of planned gifts include;
bequests, life insurance, securities, charitable gift annuities, and
gifts of personal and real property.

Every year some of our community
friends host events to benefit Hospice Peterborough. These third
party events are an important source of funds. If you are interested
in hosting an event to support end-of-life care in our community,

fundraising events such as Hike for Hospice, our Golf Tournament and
our Gala.
5. Endowment Fund
Contributing to Hospice
Peterborough’s Endowment fund helps to ensure the future of Hospice
programs. Your donation will be added to the existing capital of the
fund and it will be preserved there while generating a perpetual
source of income. Tax receipts are provided for all contributions.
6. Monthly Giving
Monthly Giving is a way of
maximizing your contributions to Hospice Peterborough. Your regular,
monthly gifts made through post dated cheques, VISA, AMEX or
MasterCard, provide an anticipated stream of donations allowing us
to fund our programs with certainty and giving us the ability to
make commitments to projects that will have a long-term impact
because we can rely on a regular monthly cash flow.
7. Matching Gifts
Your gifts to
Hospice Peterborough can be doubled or tripled if your employer has
a matching gifts program. Check with your employee benefits
office.
8. Gifts in Kind
Gifts-in-kind involve the donation
of goods, securities, personal and real property in lieu of cash. As
a registered charity, Hospice Peterborough can issue tax receipts
for the fair market value of these gifts.
9. Donations in lieu of gifts
Many families choose to honour a
special event like a birthday, anniversary or wedding by suggesting
their guests make a donation to Hospice Peterborough in lieu of
gifts. We can prepare special cards for you to include with your
invitations and your friends will receive a taxable receipt and
acknowledgement of their gift. You will receive notice of all of the
gifts we receive.
10. Donate Online
Hospice Peterborough is pleased to accept donations
of cash, or donations through cheques, VISA, AMEX or MasterCard.
They can be mailed directly to us or dropped off at our community
location at 439 Rubidge Street.
